Tänä aamuna klo 6.00 näytti mittari -25 astetta. Liian kylmä ihmisille ja koirille. Tytöt eivät ole innokkaita lähtemään ulos kun mittari rupeaa lähestymään -20ºC. Mutta päivistä tulee koko ajan pidempiä, aivan ihanaa nähdä päivänvaloa jopa työpäivän jälkeen! Tytöillä on ollut välillä hankaluuksia kävellä kylmillä ilmoilla. Kaikki on hyvin, kunhan lunta ei mene varpaiden väliin. Mutta kun menee, niin johan konkataan kolmella tassulla. Pihka ei ole niin tarkka kuin Kukka, mutta kyllä silläkin oikein kovilla pakkasilla tassuissa tuntuu. Pitäisi ehkä ostaa tossut. Kukalla on ollut tossut aiemmin, mutta tippuivat jatkuvasti tassuista, joten eivät kovin hyvät.
Viime viikolla käytiin ostamassa tytöille uudet talvitakit. Kukan vanha takki on pari vuotta vanha, eikä oikein sopiva tytölle. Se on liian lyhyt sivuilta! Pihkalla on ollut käytössä Kukan vanha talvitakki, joten piti Pihkankin saada oma pomppa. Käytiin M&M:stä ostamassa vielä -25% alen siivittämänä Hurtan talvitakit.
Huomenna ollaan menossa taas Kennelrehun autolle täyttämään lihavarastoja. Kennelrehulta on tilattu lammasta ja hevosta, kalkkunaa ja mahaa meillä onkin jo pakkasessa. Tilasin tytöille myös Canidaen als grain-freetä, ovat syöneet nyt vajaa puolet ruuasta Profinea ja loput lihaa. Lempimuona tulee ensi viikolla, sieltä varmaan pitää laittaa jotain tilaukseen. Muita shoppailuja ei olla tehty vähään aikaan. Löysin tosin hyvä brittikaupan, joka myy eläintuotteita. Sieltä varmaan pitää tilata Stride plussaa Kukalle, kunhan saadaan Arthroflex-pullo loppuun. Kertoilen siitä myöhemmin.
Olen ilmoittanut Pihkan Vaasan näyttelyyn huhtikuussa. Ei olla käyty näyttelyissä viime erikoisnäyttelyn jälkeen, joka onkin ollut ihan hyvä. Muutakin ohjelmaa on keväälle tiedossa, mutta siitä sitten lähempänä. Pitää varmaan harjoitella näyttelyä varten ja lukea uusia näyttelysääntöjä. Ei olla vieläkään saatu aikaiseksi treenata yhtään mitään. Täytyykin kaivaa treenivihko esiin ja ruveta tekemään ohjelmaa keväälle.
Tytöt ovat pysyneet terveinä, se onkin kaikista tärkein asia!
Pihka is in the end of her heat cycle, we are really looking forward to forest trips (girls running freely) and better weather. Pihka has been more restless this time than previous times, so she hasn't been able to be outside without a lead. We have so many boys running free in our neighbourhood. We've been using Flexi lead, that she can run and go more freely.
It was -25 degrees celcius at 6:00 a.m. today. Too cold for people and dogs. Girls are not that eager to go out when it starts to get near -20ºC . But days are getting longer, it is great to see the daylight even after workday! They've had some difficulties walking during these cold sessions. It is ok when the snow doesn't get between the toes, but when it sometimes goes there, they start to walk using only three paws. Pihka doesn't care that much, but Kukka is more sensitive with these things. I haven't bought slippers to them, but maybe I should. Kukka had slippers, but they fell from the paws all the time. We are just waiting for the spring, the best season off all!
We bought new winter coats for the girls last week. Kukkas old jacket is only about two years old, but not the perfect model for her. It is too short from the sides! Pihka is using Kukkas old jacket, so she needed to have a new one also. We bought Hurtta winter jackets http://www.hurttacollection.com and were very pleased to get -25% discount also.

Pihka will be attending Vaasa International dog show in April. We haven’t participated any dog shows since the speciality show last August. It’s been good to have a break. We'll be also having some other programme for this spring, but I’ll write about it later. We must practice and maybe read the new dog show rules. Unfortunately we haven’t trained obedience lately, must find their training book and start planning the schedule.
Girls have been healthy, that is the most important thing!
